The Coordination Centre of Moslems of Northern Caucasus has called to scale up the struggle against crime in Dagestan in the context of the murder of Tinamagomed Ramazanov, Imam of the mosque of Bavtugai village.
"It would be nice to hope that the leadership of Dagestan will enforce certain order. Unfortunately, it's not the case so far," said Shafig Pshikhachev, plenipotentiary representative of the Coordination Centre in Moscow and executive director of International Islamic Mission, as quoted by the "Interfax".
According to Mr Pshikhachev, "practically during the ten years that Islamic clergymen are systematically assassinated," he cannot "remember a case, when such murder was solved," as reported by the "Yuga.Ru".
See earlier reports: "In Dagestan, Imam of rural mosque assassinated", "In Karachai-Circassia, last rites paid to Mufti Bostanov, killed yesterday", "In Dagestan, cleric-opponent to Wahhabism wounded by explosion", "Supreme Court of Dagestan acquits a suspect accused of murdering Imam".
