Zubair Omarov, an inspector of the Investigatory Committee for especially important cases at the Prosecutor's Office of Dagestan, informed two figurants of the "execution list" today that they are regarded as victims in criminal case No. 96892, dealing with appeals to murders and grave crimes.
The victims are Isalmagomed Nabiev, a publicist, human rights activist and chairman of the independent trade union of drivers and entrepreneurs of Dagestan, and Ahmednabi Ahmednabiev, a journalist of the Dagestan weekly "Novoe Delo" (New Business).
"The criminal case was opened because the leaflets contain statements, containing appeals to extremism, murders and grave crimes," Mr Nabiev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. He also noted that the issue of state protection of those on the list could be soon decided.
