Makhachkala has opened an exhibition "Northern Caucasus - on Road of Changes" showing works of photographers from Dagestan, Ingushetia, North Ossetia, Chechnya and other regions. After Makhachkala, the exhibition will go to Nazran, Grozny and Vladikavkaz.
The event is held under the project of the Foundation FOCUS-MEDIA "Development of Local Communities in Chechnya, Ingushetia, Dagestan and North Ossetia" in partnership with "Caritas", France.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the organizing committee of the photo exhibition that in July-December 2009 a photo contest was held "Russian Northern Caucasus - on Road of Changes" with participation of photographers of Dagestan, Ingushetia, North Ossetia, Chechnya and other regions.
At the end of the project, in the end of April 2010, the "North Caucasian Civil Forum" will be held for activists of national and international NCOs (non-commercial organizations), local authorities, mass media and all the interested persons. The conference will discuss the problems of development of the civil society in the region and issues of NCO interaction in modern conditions.
The partners of the exhibition are the Russian Fund of Culture, magazine "Russian Newsweek", UNICEF representative office in Vladikavkaz, and UN Information Centre in Moscow.
The exhibition will be open in Makhachkala till February 24. On March 2-8, it will be in Nazran (ART-BOS Cultural-Educational Centre), on March 11-16 - in Grozny (National Museum of the Chechen Republic), and on March 19-25 - in Vladikavkaz (M. Tuganov Arts Museum).
In April, the exhibition will be presented in Moscow, at the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation.
