Suspect of attempt on head of Dagestan MIA has no complaints of pressure, his lawyer says

Today, Adilgerei Omarov, advocate of Shamsullah Borziev, a resident of Rakhat village, Botlikh District, and a detainee as suspect of the murder attempt on Adilgerei Magomedtagirov, Interior Minister of Dagestan, said that he had visited his client at the temporary isolation facility (known as "IVS") of the MIA of North Ossetia.

"I've just come back from Vladikavkaz, where I went to visit Shamsullah. I was treated politely; and they brought me to the detainee. I talked with Shamsullah for several hours," the lawyer told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

He has added that today Borziev feels no pressure. "He has all the necessary conditions; he told me that the only problem is in his strong pains in the injured leg. Shamsullah had broken it back last summer. Ambulance was twice called to him - doctors made injections and left, while my client needs an inpatient examination and treatment, as pains persist, and his leg is red and swollen," said Mr Omarov.

He also reported that Borziev was tested by a lie detector: "Shamsullah himself asked for the procedure; and, as he said, the instrument confirmed his non-involvement in the murder of the Minister."

In the end of the interview the lawyer said that Borziev had indeed, by virtue of forced circumstances, had really signed a paper that nobody had tortured him; however, lawyer Omarov did not detail the circumstances.
