Head of rural settlement shot dead in Dagestan

As reported by a source in the local Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), Rasul Magomedov, head of Cherniayevka village, Kizlyar District of Dagestan, was shot dead.

The source said that the incident took place at about 10:50 p.m., when Magomedov was getting out of his car near his house.

"Criminals opened fire on him and then disappeared in a Russian-made car; the village head died in place. Now inspectors study the venue, since eyewitnesses saw the car, and militiamen have its attributes. The gunmen are searched," the RIA "Dagestan" quotes the MIA source as saying.
