Relatives and advocate of Alaudin Nalgiev, who was detained on July 14, continue insisting that the young man is illegally kept in custody and was exposed to torture. Employees of the Ingush branch of the Human Rights Society "Memorial" sent an inquiry to prosecutor's office.
Timur Akiev, head of Ingush branch of the "Memorial", has confirmed that Nalgiev's relatives had addressed their complaint to this organization. "On that very day, we made an inquiry to the prosecutor's office, asking to clear out whether there were violations at detention. When we get an answer, we'll be able to advice people where to address later and how to appeal against, as we are a public organization. All other actions should be undertaken by the advocate, since he is a legal entity," said Akiev.
He also reminded that this is far from being the first complaint against illegal actions of the Malgobek ROVD (District Interior Division), but there is no reaction from the authorities.
Louisa Isaeva, Nalgiev's advocate, asserts, in her turn, that detention of her client was wrongful; and at present he is illegally kept in custody. According to her version, Nalgiev was detained on July 14, while the documents say that it was on July 15. She assets that the young man was kept at the ROVD for 24 hours without documenting the detention and tortured; they tried to knock the required evidences out of him. The advocate was not present.
According to her version, they planted a grenade without a fuse on the young man; and the witnesses of the detention said that before the detention power agents had made sure that Nalgiev would surely be in the detained car. The arresters were in masks, which, according to the advocate, is already illegal.
Nukhazhir Evloev, head of the Malgobek ROVD, refrained from comments has evaded, and the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent could not ask him why already the third family (Tsechoevs, Gandaloevs and now Gatagashevs) complain of illegal methods of detention and investigation, practised by his subordinates.
