"First Ring" in Chechen schools is held under strengthened security

Sep 01 2010, 23:50

Today, the schools of Chechnya started their new school year with the "First Ring". On the eve, all the general educational establishments and adjacent territories were inspected, and round-the-clock securities were deployed.

"As of today, Chechnya operates 442 schools. In the context of the solemn actions dated to the Day of Knowledge, all the schools were checked for the presence of explosives and put under round-the-clock security. Ten law enforcers are on duty at every school, which excludes any emergencies. The strengthened security regime will last till the end of celebratory actions," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

Last week, the MIA set up special headquarters in charge of addressing the issues related to security of the events held at celebrations of the Day of Knowledge.
