Azerbaijani MFA: Foreign Relations Committee of Pakistani Senate recognizes Khodjaly events as genocide

Today, the meeting of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Senate of Pakistan unanimously adopted resolution to recognize the tragic events that occurred in 1992 in the town of Khodjaly in Nagorno-Karabakh as genocide. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Azerbaijan.

ICRC officials meet Sergeant of Azerbaijani Armed Forces detained in Nagorno-Karabakh again

Complaint to ECtHR on Cherkesov's sentence to be sent not earlier than March, his lawyer says

The defence of Aslan Cherkesov, a native of Nalchik, convicted for killing Yegor Sviridov, is getting ready to continue the litigation at the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR), said Dmitry Pankov, Cherkesov's advocate. According to his story, the complaint will be filed no earlier than March, after receipt of the cassation decision of the Russian Supreme Court (SC). On the other hand, Roman Kuchin, who is representing the victims, finds the SC's decision lawful and justified.

Aslan Cherkesov's relatives outraged by Supreme Court's decision on his case

Relatives of Aslan Cherkesov, a native of Nalchik, convicted to twenty years in prison for murdering Yegor Sviridov, are outraged by the decision of the Supreme Court of Russia to mitigate his term by two months only. Remizov: shortening prison terms of figurants in Volkov's won't repeat Manege Square riots

The mitigation of sentences to those guilty of murdering Yuri Volkov adopted by the Russian Supreme Court will not lead to mass protests, said Mikhail Remizov, President of the National Strategy Institute. Fans of the "Spartak" FC also believe that shortening of the terms would not cause any broad social response.

Solution of Russian interethnic problems starts with studying their roots, debaters on Putin's article on national issue believe

Russia needs an authority to deal with interethnic relations; and in order to solve national problems, we should first find their roots - these are the ideas expressed by public activists, including those from the Russian Congress of Caucasian Nations (RCCN), who took part in the roundtable on "Russia's Interethnic and Inter-Confessional Challenges", held on January 24 in Moscow at the RIA "Novosti".

Cherkesov considered the verdict on the case of Sviridov's murder unjustified

During consideration of his appeal in the Supreme Court of Russia Aslan Cherkesov earlier acknowledged guilty of murder of football fan Yegor Sviridov asked the court to avoid the sentence and refer the case to a new consideration. The Supreme Court reduced his custody term from 20 to 19 years and 8 months. The verdict of guilty was confirmed, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

Moscow football fans demand to punish Caucasian who injured their comrade in Maloyaroslavets

On January 21, several hundred fans of Moscow football clubs arrived in the city of Maloyaroslavets, Kaluga Region, where they held an action with a demand to punish the young man from the Caucasus, who had knifed their comrade friend in a mass brawl.

Ulyanovsk: six football fans suspected of distributing anti-Caucasian leaflets

Six residents of Ulyanovsk are suspected of inciting hatred based on ethnic grounds against players and fans of the "Anji" FC (Makhachkala). According to the prosecutor's office, fans of the "Volga" FC prepared and distributed leaflets with extremist content.

Mother of young metro fighter with Caucasians wants to leave Russia
