Ancient fresco found in Georgian monastery
| A fresco of the 11th century, depicting, supposedly, Tsar David Agmashenebeli (David the Builder), was found in the cathedral church of the Georgian monastery Alaverdi. This was reported by Nika Vacheishvili, head of the Agency for Protection of Cultural Heritage of Georgia. |

Funds are not enough to erect in Moscow prototype of Memorial of Glory demolished in Kutaisi
| Erection of a monument in Moscow instead of the Memorial of Glory blown up in Kutaisi may face certain difficulties. As of July 12, 7 million roubles were raised for the purpose, which is, as noted by Valery Vinogradov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow, obviously not enough.
