In 2011, armed conflict in Northern Caucasus killed and wounded 1378 people

Last year, at least 1378 people fell victim to the ongoing armed conflict in Northern Caucasus, including 750 casualties and at least 628 wounded persons. These are the results of calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from open sources.

In 2011, at least 201 people fell victim to the armed conflict in Chechnya: at least 95 persons were killed and 106 more persons were wounded. Dagestan: 824 persons lost or wounded in 2011 in armed conflict

In 2011, at least 824 persons fell victim to the armed conflict in Dagestan, including 413 casualties and 411 more persons, who received wounds of various gravity. As compared with 2010, the total count of victims went up by more than 20 percent – in 2010, there were 685 of them. The main blow fell on civilians. Kabardino-Balkaria: 173 victims of armed conflict in 2011

In 2011, at least 173 persons fell victim to the armed conflict in Kabardino-Balkaria; of whom 129 persons were killed and 44 others wounded. The death toll includes 80 persons declared to be militants, 31 law enforcers and 18 civilians.
