Putin compares Russia's actions in Donbass with special operation in the Caucasus
The Russian Armed Forces have launched a military operation in connection with the situation in the Donbass, Vladimir Putin has stated. He compared the operation to the campaign against terrorists in Northern Caucasus in the early 2000s.

Court fines Boromangnaev for insulting Putin
The Elista City Court has fined Batyr Boromangnaev, the chairman of the Kalmyk branch of the "Yabloko" Party, by 30,000 roubles for his post in social networks about "Putin's Russia". The court found that the oppositionist's statements are offending the honour and dignity of the Russian president. Boromangnaev intends to appeal against this decision.

Regions of Southern Russia are outsiders in wage level
In the ranking of Russian regions in terms of wages, Kalmykia took the last place. Only 1.2% of residents of this republic get salaries over 100,000 roubles per month, while 19.6% residents get less than 15,000 roubles. The ten outsiders also include Karachay-Cherkessia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Chechnya, Ingushetia and Dagestan.

Outcomes of State Duma elections in SFD regions show "Edinaya Rossiya" dominance
In the overwhelming majority of regions of the Southern Federal District (SFD) of Russia, candidates from the "Edinaya Rossiya" (United Russia) Party have won the elections to the State Duma in single-mandate constituencies, with the exception of Adygea, where the self-nominated candidate Vladislav Reznik has won.
